Funk's Corner - The Hand of God
1983 - I was booking for Jim Crockett Jr. in the Mid-Atlantic Territory.
Masanobu Fuchi was traveling with with Me from Charlotte North Carolina to Raleigh North Carolina on the old two lane U.S. highway 49.
Fuchi was driving my 1980 F-150 Super Cab pickup truck for the first time.
We were talking about Fuchi's future with All Japan Pro Wrestling.
Unlike most American made cars, the horn on the F-150 Super Cab was only a button located on the lower right of the steering wheel.
An oncoming car pulled out to pass on the single lane road and was
coming at us head-on.
There was no place to go. I yelled to Fuchi, "WATCH OUT, WE ARE GOING TO DIE."
Fuchi's hand went right to the Horn Button on the bottom right of the steering wheel.
The F-150 Super Cab's horn honked alerting the oncoming car driver
who instantly drove into the ditch missing a head on collision with us by inches.
On that day on highway 49 traveling from Charlotte to Raleigh North Carolina, Fuchi and I "cheated death."
Fuchi driving a different car for the first time with a horn in an unusual location could not have located the horn button without help from above.
The Hand of God must have guided Fuchi's hand to the horn button
on the right of the steering wheel saving our lives.
Thanks to the "Hand of God." Fuchi, and I are still here with All Japan Pro Wrestling.

神の手
１９８３年私はジムクロケットジュニアにミッドアトランティックテリトリーのブッキングがありました。
ある日、フチ選手とノースカロライナシャーロットからラレイまで私のフォードのピックアップトラックを彼に初めて運転させたときのできごと。
車の中で夢中でフチ選手の将来、全日本の未来について語り合いました
私の車はつくりがすこし違いクラクションはハンドルの真ん中ではなく、右下にある変わったつくりの車でした。
すると、私たちの車を追い越そうとした車が私たちが完全に見えなかったのか、数インチまで近寄ってきました。気をつけろ。ぶつかるぞ。と、私は叫んでしまいました。
あやうく二人は命を落とすところでした
フチ選手が危機一髪、クラクションを鳴らし、事故を回避できたのです
これは奇跡に相当するできごとです。初めて運転した車。
しかもクラクションの位置など想像もつかない場所にある車をうんてんし、
見事に瞬間にしてクラクションを鳴らせたのですから
もしもクラクションが逆に右下に無かったらを考えるとぞっとする想いです
この神の手を持つフチ選手にあらためて御礼を申し上げたい
